This was Bultaco’s first attempt at building a scrambles motorcycle for the 250 CC Class. Rickman Engineering of England, fabricated the beautiful frames and sold them to Bultaco in 1965. In 1966, Bultaco copied the frames and terminated their contract with the Rickman Brothers. The ensuing lawsuit for patent infringement was one of the most pronounced in the motorcycle industry. This particular bike is 1 of only 24 sent to the U.S. in 1965; only 3 verified models still exist. This model is 100% correct, including the new original “Gripster Avon” tires and the unusual rim combination of an aluminum front and a steel rear. It is a show winner and has been featured in VMX Magazine. It has been referred to as the rarest of all Rickmans and the most collectable of Bultacos.
